Swish Property Group supports new initiative (Save Our Schools) to help schools during Cape Town WATER CRISIS

WHAT IS SAVE OUR SCHOOLS?
We are very proud to be a part of this wonderful initiative Save Our Schools (SOS) which is supporting local schools during the drought currently affecting Cape Town. SOS an initiative kicked off by founding partners Save Our Schools NPO, Swish Property Group, Isipani Construction, Isuzu and JoJo tanks. The aim of the initiative is to connect local Woodstock schools to a water source they can rely on so that they can be operational and sanitary during this period of drought.

WHAT IS OUR CONTRIBUTION?
At Swish Property Group we have a strong focus on sustainability and are constantly looking for ways that we can make a difference and ensure our developments use sustainable practices.
While we’re a modern and dynamic company, we believe in old-fashioned values: integrity, simplicity, and authenticity.

Swish Property Group and Isipani Construction have partnered with the campaign to assist with the donation of non-potable water which is sourced from the Woodstock Quarter development. “The basement of the development is below the water table so there is a constant flow of water being pumped out and we wanted to assist this essential campaign, in delivering this water to the schools in our direct community”.

HOW IS THE DROUGHT AFFECTING LOCAL SCHOOLS?
Here are a few ways that the drought is already negatively impacting our local schools:

  • Poor sanitation and operations at schools
  • Halting of all swimming related sports
  • Poor irrigation to sports fields which affects school sporting in general
  • Stopping of fundamental educational projects such as Micro-Farming Gardens
