Upper Eastside was awarded Best African Redevelopment Multi-Units – African Property Awards 2008 

The Hotel was the first Doubletree by Hilton in South Africa and has a 5 Star Green Rating from The Green Building Council of South Africa.  Upper Eastside was one of the first developments in Cape Town to utilize a heat-exchange system to heat the hotel and the apartment's hot water.
